The committee meets twice a year to discuss standards that will be published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards, Volume 15.13. - University of Alicante Acquires Gogoa's BELK Exoskeleton for Research and Education
The School of Engineering at the University of Alicante, in collaboration with the Department of Physics, Systems Engineering, and Signal Theory, has taken a significant step in biotechnology and robotics innovation with the acquisition of the BELK knee exoskeleton from Gogoa Mobility Robots. This achievement marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to innovation in biotechnology and robotics. The delivered BELK exoskeleton will become a fundamental tool for research and education at the University of Alicante. This device will be used in key academic programs, including Biomedical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, as well as the Master's programs in Biomedical Engineering and Automation and Robotics. It is worth noting that the BELK exoskeleton incorporates a backpack for storing electronics and the battery, providing users with the opportunity to take walks with the exoskeleton, expanding its everyday utility. BELK is a lower limb exoskeleton with a motorized joint designed for gait training in everyday environments. What sets BELK apart is its functionality, which allows users to adjust the degree of angular movement of the device as well as walking speed. It also offers the ability to regulate gait assistance, creating a force field based on the user's needs and progress. At the stage of the San Agustín Cultural Center in Valladolid, we had the honor of witnessing an event that could have a significant impact on the lives of many people. Under the title "Neurodegenerative Diseases: How Can Technology Help Us?" we embarked on a fascinating journey filled with promises and possibilities. Imagine gathering experts from across the country, all united by a common purpose: improving the quality of life for those facing neurodegenerative diseases. During this event, we explored three crucial perspectives: 1. Scientific Vision: Advancing with Technology At the heart of this forum, we delved into an exploration of where we stand in technological terms and what challenges we must overcome. A few months ago, San Vicente Hospital decided to adopt our technology to enrich its range of rehabilitation services for motor injuries and conditions. El exoesqueleto HANK obtiene el premio Quality Innovation Award por su valor innovativo, usabilidad y eficacia. Gogoa Mobility Robots, fabricante de exoesqueletos en el campo de la neurorrehabilitación e industria, ha sido premiada por el desarrollo del exoesqueleto HANK en la categoría del Sector Sanitario en los Premios Quality Innovation Award 2020 en el País Vasco. HANK es un dispositivo de carácter disruptivo que ayuda en la recuperación de las funciones motoras y la marcha en pacientes con lesión medular, ictus o enfermedades neurodegenerativas. Este exoesqueleto médico de miembros inferiores permite activar la neuroplasticidad adaptativa y reeducar la marcha, facilitando a estimular el sistema nervioso a partir de la experiencia y la repetición. Esta tecnología avanzada, ya se considera un punto de inflexión en la historia de la rehabilitación y HANK es una herramienta que facilita modular la intensidad de tratamiento y exigir mayor implicación del sistema muscular del paciente durante la marcha, permitiendo una rehabilitación personalizada. Gogoa Mobility Robots cuenta actualmente con el centro de neurorrehabilitación Onbideratu (Urretxu, Gipuzkoa) dedicada a ofrecer tratamientos robóticos según las necesidades clínicas de los pacientes, empleando sus propios exoesqueletos. - Formación a alumnos de MU
El 20 de noviembre impartimos una formación en Mondragon Unibertsitatea a alumnos del Grado en Ingeniería Biomédica sobre los retos de comercialización de productos sanitarios y el campo de la neurorrehabilitación robótica. La jornada se centró en comprender de forma teórica y práctica los aspectos más importantes en los que se encuentra involucrada Gogoa, es decir: · Neuroplasticidad y la neurorrehabilitación robótica. · Proceso de diseño de los dispositivos médicos y los retos de la industrialización. · Proceso regulatorio y el cumplimiento legal y normativo de los dispositivos médicos. Consideramos una iniciativa interesante para conocer la realidad empresarial y poner en práctica los conocimientos trabajados durante el grado.

A través de ella anunciamos que muy pronto abriremos una nueva clínica en Bilbao: MOVEX Clinics. “Hay que tener en cuenta que 130.000 personas sufren un ictus en España al año y un tercio de ellas son susceptibles de rehabilitación, aunque no se les está tratando con exoesqueletos." Gogoa Mobility Robots se incorpora en el Entorno Pre Mercado de BME Es un honor anunciaros que nos incorporamos en el Entorno Pre Mercado (EpM), la aceleradora de pymes de Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME). La incorporación a este grupo es un reconocimiento entre las startups en expansión y mediante el programa de cualificación y networking conoceremos el funcionamiento de los mercados de capitales para poder acceder a inversores y dar el paso de salir a la bolsa. Según nuestro director Carlos Fernández Isoird, “la incorporación de Gogoa en EPM de BME es un hito importante en términos de captación de inversión, tanto como muestra de capacidad de gestión, así como garantía de salida para posibles fondos e inversores”. Además de nosotros, dentro del programa se han incorporado Dantia Tecnología, una empresa de tecnología de servicios Cloud, Ciberseguridad y Consultoría de Sistemas de Información y el Club de Fútbol Intercity, un equipo de fútbol de primera regional.
