21 October 2025. Hospital Quirónsalud Bizkaia, Erandio.
At six o’clock in the evening, the auditorium was already full. Healthcare professionals, physiotherapists, engineers, patients and families gathered with a shared sense of hope: to witness how technology can change lives. The First Conference on Health and Robotic Neurorehabilitation, organised by Hospital Quirónsalud Bizkaia and Gogoa Mobility Robots, marked a turning point.
The event commemorated the first anniversary of the Robotic Neurorehabilitation Unit at Hospital Quirónsalud Bizkaia, as well as the tenth anniversary of GOGOA — a decade in which the Basque company has led innovation in health-focused robotics, developing solutions that are already transforming motor and cognitive rehabilitation.
An alliance that unites science, technology and humanity
The conference was formally opened by Carlos F. Isoird, CEO of GOGOA, who shared a clear and inspiring vision:
“The rehabilitation of the future will be technological, personalised and profoundly human.”
That statement perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the pioneering collaboration between GOGOA and Hospital Quirónsalud Bizkaia, which has given rise to a unique model of care. Within the Robotic Neurorehabilitation Unit, technology is placed at the service of each individual, adapting to their diagnosis, abilities and recovery goals in a hospital environment.
Each treatment is designed in a personalised manner, combining the clinical expertise of the physiotherapy team with the use of advanced robotic devices developed by GOGOA: lower-limb and upper-limb exoskeletons, stimulation systems and virtual reality, among others.
Humanising technology
During her address, Sara García, neurological physiotherapist and head of the Unit, explained that their daily work begins with understanding each patient’s needs before introducing any technology:
“The first step is to know the person — to understand where they are now and where they can go. Technology helps refine the therapy, but the key remains human.”
The event also gave a voice to Alberto Yanes, a patient with cervical myelopathy, who recounted his progress since beginning treatment:
“I arrived with balance problems and, after just a few sessions, I could already feel a great improvement.”
His sincere and humble testimony moved the audience and gave a human face to what innovation truly means: walking again, regaining independence — in short, reclaiming life.
The Exo Show: innovation in motion
The most eagerly awaited moment of the evening came with the Exo Show — a live demonstration of the technology developed by GOGOA. Attendees witnessed HANK, the lower-limb robotic exoskeleton designed for gait rehabilitation, in full operation, alongside other solutions currently used within the unit.
Isoird explained that the development of these devices is based on a fundamental principle: absolute personalisation. Each system adapts to the patient, not the other way round. Therapists can adjust parameters in real time, ensuring natural and safe movement throughout the rehabilitation process.
The scene perfectly encapsulated the central message of the event: technology does not replace the professional — it amplifies their ability to help.
Science and shared experience
The conference concluded with a round table moderated by Alejandra de Miota, featuring Carlos F. Isoird, Guillermo Asín (GOGOA’s Director of R&D), Sara García, Dr. Alejandro Durán (Head of the Neurology Department at Hospital Quirónsalud Bizkaia), and Alberto Yanes, a patient of the unit.
Dr. Durán emphasised the essential role of robotics in the treatment of neurological conditions, both acute and chronic:
“Any condition that causes neurological deficit can benefit from robotic neurorehabilitation. It is never too late to begin.”
He also stressed:
“Technology helps us prevent the loss or paralysis of vital functions, such as eating or walking. Rehabilitation is essential to stop patients from deteriorating or, at the very least, to slow the decline in functional mobility.”
For his part, Guillermo Asín highlighted the value of uniting engineering and medicine:
“Useful robotics is not the most spectacular, but the kind that adapts and measures therapy according to the patient’s progress.”
A future that is already present
The First Conference on Health and Robotic Neurorehabilitation was far more than a record-breaking event. It confirmed that the partnership between GOGOA and Hospital Quirónsalud Bizkaia is setting a new standard in neurological rehabilitation — a model founded on evidence, personalisation and the union of science and humanity.
In a world where neurological challenges increase every year, this alliance demonstrates that clinical robotics is now an essential tool, capable of multiplying opportunities for recovery and restoring hope to thousands of people.
The event concluded with heartfelt applause and a shared certainty: innovation does not only move muscles — it moves lives.
From GOGOA, we extend our deepest gratitude to all speakers, healthcare professionals, patients, families and attendees who made this historic day possible. Your dedication and enthusiasm inspire us to continue building, together with Hospital Quirónsalud Bizkaia, the future of robotic neurorehabilitation.

I’ve been using 888starz Nigeria for quite a while now, and I can say it’s one of the most complete platforms available. It offers everything - sports betting, casino games, live events, and even eSports — all in one place. The site runs smoothly and works well on both desktop and mobile. It’s convenient, easy to navigate, and reliable when it comes to placing bets or playing games. Still, it’s best if you try it yourself and see whether it’s the right fit for you.
