Sustainable Innovation: Gogoa Mobility Robots' Approach to Design for Disassembly


Gogoa Mobility Robots proudly presents the Design for Disassembly approach used in the development of HANK, our cutting-edge exoskeleton for lower limb rehabilitation. Not only is HANK the most advanced exoskeleton in the world, but it is also designed with sustainability in mind. This means that our exoskeleton can be effortlessly dismantled and repurposed at the end of its lifespan, significantly reducing its environmental impact, and maximizing the value of its components.

Designing for Disassembly is a philosophy that we take seriously at Gogoa Mobility Robots. We understand that the products we create have an impact on the environment, and we want to minimize that impact as much as possible. By designing HANK with disassembly in mind, we are able to reduce waste, save energy, and lower the cost of sourcing new materials.

HANK is made primarily from recycled plastic, printed in 3D, and aluminium components, as well as motors, circuit boards, batteries, straps, and clips. Our team of engineers worked diligently to design HANK with the fewest parts possible, using common fasteners that require only a few standard tools for disassembly. By avoiding the use of glues, we enable the components to be easily separated and reused.

In addition to the environmental benefits of Design for Disassembly, it also has operational benefits. Our exoskeleton is designed to be easily repaired or upgraded, which prolongs its useful life and reduces the need for new products.

But our commitment to sustainability doesn't stop with HANK. Our other exoskeletons, including BELK, HAND OF HOPE, and HELK, are also designed with the same Design for Disassembly approach. We believe that all our products should be as environmentally friendly as possible while still delivering the best possible performance for our customers.
