Gogoa Mobility Robots is excited to provide an update on our latest project, MonitorEX: Ergonomics and Physiological Monitoring Module for Exoskeleton Users. As we reach the midterm milestone, we are pleased to announce that the project is progressing according to the planned work schedule.
Exoskeletons hold immense potential in reducing the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders by providing support to workers involved in physically demanding and non-ergonomic tasks. Although only a few prototypes have successfully made it to the market thus far, we are determined to push the boundaries of exoskeleton technology.
The primary objective of the MonitorEX project is twofold. Firstly, we aim to establish a remote and real-time monitoring system embedded within the exoskeleton structure. This system utilizes a combination of commercially available and cost-effective sensors. These sensors will monitor the ergonomics and overall health of individuals engaged in daily industrial tasks.
Secondly, we are developing a new component known as MonitorEX, which will be integrated into the existing SHOP4CF framework. This component will assess the ergonomic and physiological conditions of exoskeleton users who handle heavy loads or work in non-ergonomic postures. To validate its effectiveness, we will conduct extensive testing in various industrial use-cases.
Our team has successfully created a comprehensive motion and health monitoring system that connects to a FIWARE based platform. This platform gathers valuable data, which is then utilized by the MonitorEX component. By employing the RULA methodology, our component evaluates the ergonomics of exoskeleton usage. Furthermore, it performs health analyses to monitor the fatigue levels of workers.
What sets our proposed MonitorEX component apart is its ability to combine both ergonomic analysis and physiological condition assessment. This integration allows us to determine the necessity and optimal application of exoskeletons in various work scenarios.
As we move forward with the project, we remain committed to the vision of enhancing workplace safety and efficiency through the implementation of advanced exoskeleton technology. Gogoa Mobility Robots is excited about the progress made thus far, and we look forward to the positive impact MonitorEX will have on the industrial sector.
Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to advance the boundaries of exoskeleton technology, making work environments safer and more conducive to employee well-being.
