The day commenced with the General Assembly, exclusive to members, held from 16:30 to 17:30. Following this, at 17:30, the public session of the BHC Eguna began, open to all interested parties.

From the cluster, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, members, friends, and collaborators who graced this annual gathering with their presence. Your participation is essential in further strengthening the network of Biosciences and Biomedicine in the Basque Country.

A special note of thanks is directed to Estibaliz Hernaez Laviña, Deputy Minister of Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation of the Basque Government, and Saray Zarate, Deputy of Economic Development and Innovation of the Provincial Council of Álava, for their participation in the BHC Eguna.

Employment Growth in the BHC

One of the most significant highlights of the meeting was the report on employment growth within the sector. Basque Health Cluster member companies have incorporated 1,500 new jobs in the past year, bringing the total to 11,500 professionals. Including research staff from Technology Centres, Research Centres, and Universities, the Basque Country now boasts 16,000 professionals in the Biosciences and Biomedicine fields. These figures underscore the dynamism and capacity for generating high-quality employment within this sector.

Idoia Muñoz Lizán, Director of the BHC, expressed immense satisfaction with these advancements, emphasizing the importance of inter and intrasectoral cooperation, as well as public-private collaboration, to address the significant transformations the sector is undergoing.

Economic Impact of the BHC

The Basque Health Cluster currently unites 128 member companies and organizations related to Biosciences and Biomedicine. In the past year, the cluster has welcomed 19 new participants, consolidating its position as a key player in the sector's development in the Basque Country. The BHC's activities have included participation in thirty events, the signing of six collaboration agreements, and the implementation of four training activities, benefiting over 50 professionals.

Economically, the sector represents 2.5% of the Basque GDP, contributing over 2 billion euros to the regional economy. This impact results from the collective efforts of companies, research centres, and universities working in Biosciences and Biomedicine.

Promising Future

During the event, Muñoz Lizán highlighted that the Biosciences and Biomedicine sector is one of the fastest-growing and most promising economic fields in the European Union, and consequently, in the Basque Country. The BHC Director underscored the continuous progress of the cluster since its establishment 14 years ago, noting that the best opportunities are yet to come.

The Basque Health Cluster remains committed to promoting the Biosciences and health sector in the Basque Country, working closely with public administrations and other national and international organizations. This commitment is reflected in the cluster's ongoing growth and positive impact on the regional economy and employment.

In conclusion, the BHC Eguna 2024 was not only an occasion to celebrate the achievements but also a platform to plan a future filled with opportunities and challenges in the Biosciences and Biomedicine sector. Thank you all for making this event a resounding success!

At Gogoa Mobility Robots, we are proud of our CEO, Carlos Fernández Isoird's active participation in the BHC Board of Directors, and we remain dedicated to contributing to the growth and innovation in the sector.

If your Epson printer not printing black, it may be due to clogged printhead nozzles, low or dried ink cartridges, or incorrect print settings. Running the printer’s nozzle check and head cleaning from the Epson software can help fix it. Also, ensure genuine Epson ink is used and cartridges are properly installed. Updating drivers and performing regular maintenance can prevent the Epson printer not printing black issue and restore sharp, clear black prints easily.
