From 24 to 26 October 2025, FisioExpo transformed IFEMA Madrid into the leading epicentre of physiotherapy: over 10,000 m² of exhibition space, more than 170 exhibitors, upwards of 150 workshops and lectures, and thousands of professionals from across Spain and Portugal eager to witness where the profession is truly heading.

As representatives of GOGOA BIOENGINEERING, we attended as professional visitors with a clear purpose: to listen attentively to physiotherapists, to observe which emerging technologies are genuinely making a difference, and to determine whether our vision of robotic neurorehabilitation aligns with the sector’s evolving expectations.

FisioExpo 2025: where physiotherapy shifts decisively into the future

A single walk through the exhibition hall allowed visitors to move seamlessly from traditional physiotherapy equipment to an array of cutting-edge solutions:

• diathermy and shockwave systems

• novel approaches in diamagnetic therapy

• advanced gait and balance assessment platforms

• virtual reality and gamified rehabilitation tools

• and an increasingly prominent presence of robotics and sophisticated clinical technology

The takeaway was unmistakable: physiotherapy is no longer defined merely by treatment couches. The field has entered a technological, data-driven and multidisciplinary era.

Three key insights we took from FisioExpo

1. Robotics is no longer a luxury – it is becoming a clinical necessity

More and more practitioners now regard exoskeleton-based rehabilitation and robotic neurorehabilitation as essential tools for complex cases: stroke, spinal cord injury, neurodegenerative diseases, and post-operative orthopaedic recovery.

In the corridors, we repeatedly heard:

• “With exoskeletons, I can safely multiply the number of gait repetitions.”

• “Patients can see their progress in a very tangible way.”

• “We need technology that helps us achieve more in less time.”

For us, as designers and manufacturers of medical-grade exoskeletons, this is a powerful validation: robotics has moved from being a promising concept to becoming established clinical reality.

2. The data-free era is over

Another undeniable trend emerged: a strong appetite for objective data—and plenty of it.

• comprehensive strength and range-of-motion metrics

• detailed logs of repetitions, load, and fatigue

• digital reports that enhance clinical follow-up

Physiotherapy is rapidly evolving into a metrics-based discipline, where patient progression is documented with verifiable, quantifiable information.

Our exoskeletons do not merely mobilise the patient; they also capture meaningful data that supports treatment personalisation, justifies clinical decisions, and clearly communicates progress.

3. Technology, yes—but designed for the physiotherapist’s real-world workflow

Physiotherapists are not seeking additional administrative weight. They want intuitive tools that integrate effortlessly into their daily routine.

The most commonly expressed needs included:

• simple, elegant interfaces

• pre-configured clinical protocols

• equipment that can be used by multiple therapists without friction

• close technical support and continuous training

Innovation is welcome—but only when it elevates rather than complicates clinical practice.
